GEOMETRIC – Geometric Effects for Images and Video
A browser-based art studio that turns images, video and sound into compositions of contours, geometric shapes and digital textures.

PixelCrash is a browser-based video effects tool by @van_der_ex. It turns video or a camera feed into compositions of pixel cells and editable symbols, making it useful for ASCII-inspired motion experiments and deliberately rough digital imagery. The interface separates the image treatment into layers. Each layer can use brightness or edge mapping, so you can target tonal ranges or contours instead of applying the same treatment to every part of a frame. Layers can be hidden, randomised or removed, and the tool supports up to five layers. Global controls change cell size and proportions. Within a layer, cells can sample the source image or use a solid colour, while the Symbols field lets you choose the characters and their colour. Combining these controls produces anything from recognisable footage with a subtle text overlay to more abstract, fragmented motion. The source controls offer video import and camera input, with a switch for showing the original layer. Clicking the preview pauses or resumes playback. The interface provides Record and Stop controls, and the creator states that video export currently uses WebM. The site requires a screen wider than 800 pixels. The tool opens without a payment or account gate. A separate commercial-use license was not found; the creator asks users to credit @van_der_ex or #pixelcrash when publishing work.
