AIGA Eye on Design — Graphic Design & Visual Culture Editorial Archive

About this resource

AIGA Eye on Design is an editorial platform published by AIGA, the professional association for design. It explores what it means to be a designer today through interviews, essays, historical features, criticism and long-form editorial stories. The archive covers branding, typography, graphic design, digital products, design history, books, packaging, music, fashion, education, ecology and many other subjects at the intersection of design and culture. Recurring series explore new typefaces, design history, creative communities, studios and contemporary design practice. Eye on Design is especially useful for designers who want more than visual references. Its articles provide context around changing aesthetics, technology, culture and the ways designers and studios work around the world. The site also preserves content from Eye on Design magazine and a large collection of editor-selected stories. Much of the content currently highlighted on the homepage comes from the archive, with the most prominent recent articles dating from 2022, so the site is best treated as a valuable editorial library rather than an actively updated daily publication.
