An AI coding environment for editing, understanding and developing software, with a limited free plan.

Claude is Anthropic’s conversational assistant for working through questions, writing and code. It can help a designer organise a brief, compare possible directions or refine the explanation of a project. A conversation provides room to add context, challenge an answer and ask for a more specific result. Useful starting tasks include editing a case study, explaining unfamiliar terminology and reviewing the structure of a presentation. Bring a clear purpose and intended audience. You can ask for alternatives, but the final choice still belongs to the person who understands the project and its constraints. The service supports file-based work, web search and coding-related tasks. Availability varies with the plan and current limits. It is worth distinguishing the general Claude assistant from Claude Code, the related coding product, when deciding which workflow you need. A Free plan is available, with usage restrictions. Paid subscriptions expand capacity and access to particular tools. Do not assume that every feature demonstrated in a product announcement is included without limits in a free account. Review factual claims against their original sources and inspect generated code before using it. Obtain permission before uploading confidential client files, and check the service’s data controls. An articulate explanation is a useful draft, but does not itself prove that its conclusions are correct.
Proprietary service with limited free access and paid plans. Check current terms, data settings and rights to uploaded material.
