FeralUI Gradient Builder — gradient generator

About this resource

FeralUI Gradient Builder is a browser-based editor for soft, expressive colour backgrounds. Created by Sarthak Navalekar, it combines traditional Japanese colour palettes with different ways of blending them, from smooth transitions and mesh gradients to watercolour-like fields, waves and aurora effects. It is useful for covers, posters, presentations, background images and early website concepts. Start with a preset, then adjust its colours and composition. Rings on the canvas position the colour spots, while balance bands control how much space each colour occupies. This makes it practical to compare directions and build a particular mood without constructing every transition from scratch. Controls vary by gradient type. Flow, for example, offers scale, distortion, swirl and speed settings, while softening and noise adjust the finish. Separate editor tabs support text and images. Preview shows the gradient in design contexts, and the contrast view helps assess where text remains readable against the background. The export menu offers PNG, JPG, SVG and MP4 alongside HTML, CSS, JSON and React. Preset sizes cover screens and social formats, with a custom-size option as well. Choose an image for a static background, video for a moving treatment, or explore the code formats for a web project. The site also supports bringing SVG output into Figma. All gradient types, palettes and export formats are advertised as free, with no account or watermark. The builder is a distinct tool within FeralUI; paid sponsorship on the wider site is not an editor subscription. Check contrast before using a gradient behind interface content, and keep free access to the demo separate from permission to copy its source code.

Usage and licensing

The editor and all export formats are free. The reviewed terms do not state a separate licence for generated gradients. MIT applies only to the listed FeralUI npm packages; unpublished demos may not be copied or redistributed. Do not treat Gradient Builder's source code as MIT-licensed.
