Sfumato – Generative Patterns & Gradients

About this resource

Sfumato is a browser-based studio for making abstract graphics. Start with a preset rather than a blank canvas: soft colour streams, glass-like stripes, chromatic columns and other compositions provide a starting point for backgrounds, posters and visual experiments. The editor separates a design into colour, pattern, surface, lighting, effects and text. You can adjust each part independently, keeping a palette you like while exploring another texture or blur treatment. Reseeding produces a different composition with the same settings. A reference mode lets you place a photo beside the artwork and sample its colours. Frame comparison helps you judge changes, while custom presets preserve combinations of colour, surface, atmosphere and typography. The design gallery is stored in the current browser, so important projects should also be backed up as project files. The Motion section adds animation to a composition. Still images can be downloaded as PNG, JPG or WebP. Vector SVG export is available for the sharp pattern layer; blur, glass and finishing effects remain raster stages. Copied CSS, SVG and Tailwind are lightweight approximations, while the website package provides the actual animated renderer. The studio is useful for landing-page backgrounds, presentations, posters and social graphics when you want hands-on control over colour and texture. The inspected editor is accessible without registration or payment, with optional support through Ko-fi. No separate public licence for generated output was found during review.
