Light Rails — Generative Pattern Studio

About this resource

Light Rails by Dinesh Subramani is a browser-based playground for generative graphics. Its visual language is built around luminous lines and geometric structures, from parallel bars and rings to spirals, tunnels and radial forms. It is useful for exploring a distinctive background, poster treatment or graphic motif for a visual identity. Start with a shape and colour palette, then adjust line count, stroke width, gradient colours and glow. Separate controls cover grain, blur, outlines and composition angle. This makes it possible to develop a look through small adjustments rather than choosing a single finished image. Motion controls shape the speed, duration and behaviour of the light pass. Timing settings include rise and fall, easing and trailing effects. You can save your own settings as browser-local presets and return to a promising combination later. The studio also includes card, poster and presentation-style templates. These show how a pattern can work alongside typography, with editable text on the cards. Copy and figures inside the demonstration templates are sample design content, not factual claims about the resource. The export menu provides PNG stills, JSON settings and WebM, GIF and MP4 options for motion work. MP4 availability depends on browser support. The editor requires WebGL; a WebGL unavailable message means live rendering cannot run in that environment. No separate public licence covering use of generated outputs was found during review.

Usage and licensing

The editor is publicly accessible with no visible paid plan. Separate output licensing terms or an explicit commercial-use grant were not found; confirm the relevant rights with the creator for commercial use.
