About this resource
Image to ASCII turns photos, illustrations and logos into compositions made from text characters. It needs no account and processes images locally in your browser. Load a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF, then adjust width, character style, brightness, contrast and dithering. Output is static, including when the source is a GIF. Copy the characters or save a TXT file. PNG, SVG, HTML and ANSI exports preserve color. Plain text needs a monospace font and intact line breaks to keep its proportions. Use it for retro graphics, covers, posters, README artwork or messages. Examples and presets provide starting settings for different uses.
